Supporting Vermont's Cannabis Industry Through Unexpected Challenges
Resiliency Fund.
Following the devastating Vermont floods of 2023 and 2024, CRAV witnessed firsthand the challenges cannabis businesses faced when seeking disaster assistance. Many businesses experienced significant losses while having limited access to traditional relief programs, federal assistance, or insurance coverage.
In response, CRAV established the Resiliency Fund to create a dedicated source of emergency financial assistance for Vermont cannabis license holders affected by disasters, catastrophic events, and other unforeseen hardships. The goal is to ensure that support can be made available as quickly as possible when members of our industry face unexpected emergencies.
Eligible incidents may include, but are not limited to:
• Flooding and severe weather events
• Fire and smoke damage
• HVAC or environmental control failures
• Utility outages or transformer failures
• Equipment malfunctions resulting in significant crop or inventory loss
• Structural damage to facilities
• Other disasters or emergency events that cause substantial operational or financial hardship
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Hold a current Vermont cannabis license
• Have held a valid Vermont cannabis license at the time of the incident
• Be in good standing with the Vermont Cannabis Control Board
• Demonstrate a direct impact from the disaster or emergency event
• Provide supporting documentation of the loss or damage
Examples of documentation may include photographs, repair estimates, invoices, insurance correspondence, utility reports, or other evidence demonstrating the impact of the event.
Funding is limited, and applications will be reviewed based on eligibility, documented need, available funding, and the severity of the impact.
